2026 RT PEI + Cape Breton
Hello! We had a quick overnight to PEI (Prince Edward Island). Just enough time for a short hike to see the beautiful Cavendish beach. We stayed in Charlottetown and had fun wandering around the city. It's always a good day when you have Lobster Roll for lunch and Oysters for dinner! PEI oysters! I can never remember to take a picture before I dive in! On the drive to Nova Scotia we stopped at a lighthouse - Very disappointed 😞 So, we found another. This is Cape Bear Lighthouse. The first distress signal from the Titanic was received here. After the 2nd signal, it was decided it was not a hoax (that the unsinkable Titanic was sinking) and calls for help were relayed to other ships. We even got to climb to the top - someone left the light on! It was a tight fit at the top. We were happy to find a lighthouse that was not being renovated.
