How can it be over already?

We are back on land, getting over our "sea legs".  The cruise was super fun!  Falk, who came on this vacation as a "favor" to Svenni, LOVED the Caribbean!  YAY!

Our excursion at St. John, Antigua was to swim with Stingrays and snorkel.  No pictures of stingrays but this is the boat we went out on.  If you ever get a chance to do this kind of adventure - make sure to do it!  The stingrays are all around you, they are velvety soft and it is cool to be up-close and personal with them.  We had a long time in the water with the stingrays and snorkeling as well.

At St. Maarten we got to help crew an American Cup racing sailboat "Canada II".  This was super fun - great wind, great (young) crew - and we won the race against "Stars & Stripes".

I was a "winch" - all puns intended! LOL

This is the beach at St Maarten. Very nice!

The sun sets on a very nice day!

Next up was Puerto Rico - we did a bicycle tour around the old city.  The bikes were simple- no gears, coaster brakes, yellow.

This statue commemorates the battle of San Juan in 1797 with the British.  The story goes that the battle was going badly for PR and so the Bishop and all the women and children gathered near the Fort and began to pray.  This was in the evening - they had torches and assembled quite a crowd.  The British saw this large mass of people moving with their torches and, fearing this was a huge army, retreated and left the island.
At "El Morro" the Fort on PR.

Falk has been fascinated, this being the farthest South he has ever been, that the sun actually is directly overhead at noon.  Here is Svenni with her tiny shadow at noon.

There was a "progressive trivia" game that lasted all week on the cruise.  As you can see below "K&A Travels" came in 5th place!  This is more impressive when you notice that we missed Day 3.  Had we been there we may have given them a run for their money.... it was fun.

This is on Great Stirrup Cay (Bahamas) that is a private island for NCL.  We had a great time snorkeling and even tried the zip line.  It was a super relaxing day!

Thanks for reading the blog, sorry it was not much.
