Signs

Image
One of the funny things in Europe, at least to me, is the signage.  There are many, many signs - they are everywhere! Here are some of my favorites! I know how a bidet works but this one looks like an extra fun ride! no boozing it up people! no creepy hands .. obviously no skateboarding - I just thought this skateboarder was extra cool! Falk and I discussed this one and decided that when you are pregnant in Hungary they issue you a three-prong belt that signifies that you are not simply fat .... we are watching you and we have guns! this one was on a wall surrounding a castle area. I like how the dog is about to jump over the wall and the man is so contemplative. no car poop that old train does not look like it could go 100m. no idea. careful that the fire does not burn your ladder striped-nose dogs only creepy eyes on this lady do not walk on the sharp sticks duh! nothing too special here, I just thought that the lady looked well dressed. look out for wind! well.... in case of fire, d

Prague - part 2

Still in Prague - so much to see here.  We are honestly so tired that it is hard to even get motivated to take pictures.  I did a rough calculation of how much we have walked in the last 3 weeks - about 81 miles. Yesterday we did a Segway Tour in a park in the west part of Prague. It was super fun, especially once they removed the speed governor! The Fall colors are really lovely too! There were a couple of stops on the tour.  The first was on top of one of the cliffs forming the canyon we rode up with nice views of the Czech country side.  Carsten, Mr. Safety, was worried that the others were getting too close to the edge.  Of course, everyone survived to continue the journey.  The second stop was the Brevnov Monastery and Brewery.  Founded in 993.  The beer was good - and it made the Segway driving a bit more challenging (just kidding!). After we were done with the tour Falk & Svenni did some walking and shopping while Carsten and I went to try and figure out where our Covid tes

Prague - Part 1

We arrived in Prague late on Saturday - our train was delayed 55 minutes due to a collision with a car on the tracks.  It was not our train that hit a car, nevertheless we were impacted and delayed.  What started out as a 7 hour trip took almost 8 hours - and THERE WAS NO DINING CAR ON THE TRAIN.  There was a very nice man with a cart, selling drinks and snacks so we managed, but it was not the greatest! As you can imagine we were quite hungry when we arrived - but of course we had to go straight to our apartment and meet our hostess.  There was a LOT of explaining to do and paperwork to complete as well.  By the time we wandered out to eat we were all quite hungry.  The place we are staying is nice and has a good location - one block off the river near several streetcars and a metro stop. Yesterday we walked around the Old Town, taking in a lot of the major sights and just enjoying the pedestrian areas. A few highlights: This is a statue of Sigmund Freud - he is not hanging himself -
