Cenote

Image
This was super cool! The water was cold and clear.  The area where the saltwater (from the sea) meets the clearwater is called a "halocline" and the mixing causes everything to look distorted.  If you did not know it was going to happen you might think that you were having a stroke or something. obviously it was dark.  the depth varied from 15 feet to 45 feet.  It was very important to follow the guide and not wander off in the cave - you likely would not find your way back! Just fun! Sheri & Carsten

Playa del Carmen

Hello from Mexico!!! We are in Playa del Carmen for a week of diving. We usually go to Cozumel but we wanted to dive in a cenote (freshwater inland "cave" hole thing scheduled for Wednesday). This is good diving but it is a lot of work! We have to wade out to the boat thru the (rough) surf carrying all gear, climb the boat ladder in said surf and hold on for dear life in a smallish boat! We are praying for calmer seas.  Once we are underwater it is all GREAT! We have only done 2 dives but have seen a huge moray eel, a large turtle and of course tons of fish.  Enjoy some random pics! This afternoon we will relax by the pool and beach. Take care, Sheri and Carsten
